Numbers: Existing sheets. How do I turn an existing sheet to Dark mode

This is not about changing the system!!!

This is not about changing a sheet background to Black! (black text does not look so good on a black background!)

Re-formatting each element manually is a nonsense but for the life of me I cannot see how

Apple has implemented this basic copy/replace styles between sheets.

Appears I misread the original post -- you don't want the SHEET background black. What are you hoping for exactly? White text/black background?

This is actually a pretty easy thing to do.

Open your Numbers document.
Make sure the "Format" pane is visible (as shown below).
Click on the area outside of your tables, the sides of the document, to bring up the background editor.
Click the Color Selector (or Wheel) and Choose your preferred Color.
