How do I check my MacBook for malware

I downloaded an app called SmartPlay and the uninstalled it within 15 minutes. How can I check if it installed malware?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

Use malwarebytes anti malware. The free versions removes everything you have to worry about

Protect your Mac from malware - Apple Support

If you go to an Apple Store (at least in my area) they download Malwarebytes. You can Google search for it, its free to try, but if it detects something it may cost to remove/quarantine those items.
