Login items might not appear to be adding

This morning I was going to add a new app to my login items, I went to System Prefs -> Users & Groups, selected my user ID, unlocked the lock on he bottom and clicked on the '+' sign, selected the app and clicked Add. Nothing happened so I tried a couple of more times, didn't do it. Then I tried to add another app but this also would not appear on the list. So just for curiosity I went back to the 'Password' tab and then back to Login Items and now both the apps were on the list. Looks like sometimes adding apps to this list just will not show until you leave the tab and go back to it.

Just mentioning this if anyone has problems adding new apps to try this first.

My system: 2021 MacBook Pro 14" (M1 Pro), OS 12.4
