2016 Macbook pro battery service recommended

I use a 2016 Macbook pro with a cycle count of "916" and i have been seeing "Service recommended" in the battery section.

I tried resetting the SMC but my fans ended up spinning crazy so i don't wanna try that method again. Is there any way to fix the "Service recommend" alert.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.4

It's simply not wise to try to eliminate a notification that the battery in your Mac needs to be replaced. As batteries age, they can swell and cause internal damage. If you let it go that far, the entire device will need to be replaced. Have the battery replaced and the notification will go away.

Not really other than getting the battery replaced. It's most often a message that the battery capacity has reduced below Apple's threshold for "depleted". Even if it hasn't reached Apple's nominal cycle rating, that doesn't mean that it can't have reached that level of degradation.

I have seen a Mac battery cycle between "Service Now" and "Normal", but that was an odd situation with a corrupted onboard diagnostic system on the battery. It was switching between reporting negative battery capacity and normal. At least until it finally started swelling.
