I installed the Monterey 12.5 update and now all of my folders on the desktop have been cloned. Should uninstall or how do I resolve this issue?

I installed the Monterey 12.5 update today and now all my folders on the desktop have been cloned and they all have the same information in each individual folder. When I made a new folder that also had all the other info from the other folders. Do I uninstall the update or how do I resolve the issue? Macbook Pro 2019 13 inch.

Welcome Aleciafromlampasas,

Are you an iCloud Drive user on this MacBook Pro? We ask because if you have Desktop & Documents enabled, it may be showing you duplicates of these documents/folders on your desktop.

Have you had a chance to check out the Documents folder on your Mac for any additional clones/duplicate folders and documents, as well? We want to make sure this only occurred with the desktop.

If needed, make sure you've got a backup of the Mac before making any changes: How to back up your Mac - Official Apple Support

What happens if you select a random (not important) duplicate/clone folder and attempt to delete it? Does it show up in the Trash and leave the original copy on the desktop?

Looking forward to hearing back, take care.
