Apple TV subscribing to paramount plus without asking

Has anyone had something similar?

In the Watch Now page on Apple TV it makes suggestions for what we’d like to watch or continue an episode etc only my child has clicked on a show which she watches in the Channel 10 (Aus) app but it has instead connected to the same show in the Paramount Plus app creating and charging me for a month’s subscription without even asking. How do I turn this function off to make sure that we’re not going to keep being subscribe to streaming services we don’t need only to then have to cancel each time I get an email saying it’s happened again? Best I could think to do was to log out from Apple TV where I have my Apple ID logged in. Seems strange how if I were to do the same thing on my iPhone or iPad it would have to have me login with Face ID or similar yet none of these log in processes seemed to be in place for Apple TV!

Verify that your Apple TV box is set to require the account password for new purchases and new subscriptions. That would have been on by default. Changing this setting also requires the password.

If you have subscriptions that are not wanted or no longer wanted, then cancel those. Signing out or deleting an app is not enough. If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

If you paid fees for an unintentional and accidental purchase, then you can request a refund. Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support
