Compatible SSD with M2 MacBook Air
I've just purchased an M2 MacBook Air 16/512 and would like to add an SSD (2T). I would appreciate this amazing communities input on the best equipment. Thanks in advance. mf

If you are referring to external SSD drives, it all depends on what sort of speeds you want and what your budget is. The fastest speeds will be obtained with Thunderbolt Drives. USB based drives will be quite a bit cheaper but won't be nearly as fast.
If buying USB based drives, most ay manufacturers products will be fine.
If the speeds and budget allow for higher transfer speeds, I would check out OWC (also have a selection of less expensive USB based drives:

This page has both single and multi drive configurations.

Thank you very much for taking time to reply. The information is helpful. Yes on the external drive and yes on the Thunderbolt. I appreciate your help. Michael.
Hi,
You can't upgrade SSD on your M2 MacBook Air since SSD is soldered on logic board.
You can upgrade SSD when you purchase MacBook Air as option.
You can attach and external SSD or HDD ... your choice as to size.
