Macbook unable to power on

So this post is regarding the problem with my MacBook(not MacBook air or Pro) starting up, and here's the story.

So one day I was watching a video on my Macbook when the keyboard stopped working likely due to overheating. Frankly, this happens pretty often and I would usually just perform a restart and everything would be fine after at most 2-3 restarts.

However, this time turned out to be a little different as I tried multiple times to restart but to no avail, and after a while, this message popped up:

"If you're having a problem entering your password, press and hold the power button on your Mac to shut it down. Then press it again to start up in the Recovery OS. "

Having no choices left, I pressed the power button until the screen went black, I then pressed it on again, but instead of turning on or going into recovery OS, the screen is blank. I can see it's trying to turn on as the screen is illuminated but no apple logo shows up or anything happens. Long story short, I tried multiple times but still, the screen shows nothing other than being illuminated.

Fast forward to yesterday when I got the hope to try and save my Mac, I plugged my power in and press the power button. And to my surprise, the apple logo showed up and I think I was directed to the recovery OS. However, I didn't know what to do at the time so I clicked skip the recovery OS and then my mac started up normally to the password page. Everything is working except for the keyboards. I did the same thing I did weeks earlier and tried to restart, again, to no avail. So feeling no choice I decided to press the power button again hoping it would work. Well, that turned out just as you would know, my screen went black again, and was unable to turn it on now.

So my question is: How do I turn my Mac on and possibly go into recovery OS? And how should I fix the keyboard issue assuming I got it back on again? If at best list a couple of steps I can take to fix both these issues. And feel free to ask me if I missed anything or if I need to provide anything

P.s. I hope for answers that are actually steps to solve the problem or at least could help the situation, not responses like: "get a new Mac"
