I have an iPad mini and I let a friend use it, I have it back and it’s locked

I can’t set it up due to the activation lock, the person is no longer available to get the password, is there anything I can do to be able to use it?

Remove an activation lock from an ipad I have an ipad I purchased for my mother in 2019. She has passed and I don't have her apple credentials to unlock the ipad. I was able to get it to setup a new configuration (software restore and update) but I can't get past the activation lock.

I’m stuck in the activation lock page on an iPad that’s been locked up for sometime now asking for an Apple ID and password that I no longer have access too I’m stuck on the activation lock page trying to get in this iPad for my friend. She had to a new phone and a new Apple ID along with a password. So there for she does not have access to the Apple ID and password that was once used for this iPad. Can anyone help

Tell the unit's original owner to click here and submit an unlock request.
