Problem with Device that worked on my previous iMac but not the new M1 (Orange)

I have a DYMO label maker that would work with my previous iMac. I was just wondering if "unable to be used due to needing to be updated" and then "no update available" is shown; does that mean I can't use the label maker??

Just trying to see if there is anyway to use it because I love the label maker and always use it for my job. I really do not want to have to spend more money to buy another gadget because my new (expensive) iMac won't work with it.

FWIW, I would contact DYMO. It looks like several of their label makers are supported up through macOS Monterey.

well, that is the problem with third party devices or software - if their developers do not update them to be compatible with new OS versions, then they will no longer work. It is not the computer/OS - it is the third party device. Looks like you will need to get a new one.

Okay, I am just a little confused because it worked with my last iMac that I just stopped using about 2 weeks ago. And now on the new iMac it won't work at all. I get what you are saying I am just annoyed because it s the same computer this one is just nice and newer and has really great features. And the label maker works with my husbands new Dell Optiflex so I just thought it would work here too. Thank you for your help.

You don't happen to have any advice on label makers that will definitely work with this iMac??
