Select (left-click) without trackpad.

The trackpad on my MacBook Air has suddenly stopped clicking. (It still moves the cursor Ok). So I need to use the keyboard to left-click and right-click. I’m sure there must be a way of doing this, but I can’t find what it is. Will someone please tell me?

All I get out of Apple documentation is that I need to go into Settings to enable something. But I can’t get into Settings because I can’t select and left-click.

Disappearing cursor in OS Ventura 13.1 Cursor disappears on a new (December 2, 2022) MBP with M2 chip running Ventura 13 and then 13.1 upgrade. Especially frequent when MacMail client is open, but also with MS Word application open. What is the cause and are there known fixes?
