Ok I wanted to use the Apple gift card I got from the education sale to pay for AppleCare. Will this specific gift card work for AppleCare?

I understand from your post that you would like to use your Apple Gift Card to purchase AppleCare. The type of gift card you have will determine what it can be used for. In most cases you would redeem your gift card and add it to your Apple ID to pay for your AppleCare.
