I got a $785.00 call on my iPhone asking ne to text yes if it was me else type no! I just deleted it! I do not use Apple pay. The number was if memory serves 914 XXX 7518. was not responding and simply deleting the request the right thing to do?

Also, the caller id number shown on scam and marketing calls is frequently not the number actually originating the call. The number is often spoofed.

That may have been the purpose of this scam: to get a valid phone number for you that can be sold to other scammers.
Thanks, I use Robokiller which silenced it, but let it through. I just deleted it, later on double home button I saw the number as I swiped it up and away! But as you said it was not probably the real number!
