Does “Security Policy” replace the firmware password?

I am sending in my M1 MacBook Pro to Apple to fix a dead audio port. The instructions I got with the box tell me to turn off the firmware password. Don’t remember ever setting one but I am following the instructions just to be sure. In Recovery mode I open the Startup Security Utility and though the instructions say that the next step is to turn off the firmware password, there is no such option. Instead the options are full or reduced security policy. I am guessing that this replaces the firmware password, yes? Frustrating that the instructions do not tell me that, if so.

There isn’t a firmware password on Apple Silicon.

I did eventually find a support article that confirms that. Just very odd that Apple sends out instructions telling you to do something that is obsolete for the product you are sending in. How hard can it be to add a line that says, "If you have Apple silicon, ignore this step?" As much as I love my Apple devices, I don't get things like that. And I must add for those of us who don't live within a 100 miles of an Apple store, the process for sending in your device is relatively easy and fast. I shipped mine yesterday and got confirmation from Apple today that they received it and are working on it. So that offsets the annoyance of the misleading instructions.
