I understand how to check my “current period” mobile data usage. But how do I find my mobile data usage over the past year? I need to choose a new phone plan and so would like to see my month by month usage over the past year. But if I could just find an average, that would be great too. (“Current period” includes several weeks of traveling and so is not an accurate benchmark.) thank you!

Use cellular data on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Settings>Cellular>Cellulat DATA> current Period... —reflects totals, reset annually if that is what you want. > Reset Statistics
divide your current total by the number of months you have used the iPhone for current annual usage
