Steps after making a theft claim on iPhone.

My iPhone was stolen in Juneau, Alaska. I have the theft insurance and filed a claim. I received an email saying that I would hear back from AIG via email with further instructions. That was a couple of days ago. Still waiting for that follow up email. I work on a cruise ship that goes to Alaska out of Vancouver, Canada. There’s only an Apple store in Vancouver and my provider is AT&T which is in Juneau. One of the ports of call. So would I be able to get my replacement iPhone in Vancouver and just get a new SIM card from the AT&T store in Juneau? If so could I just walk in the store and show them my claim number and explain the situation or would I need to wait for this email reply?
