how to record a podcast from email?

I don't have enough information to answer that. Presumably if you go to the site there wil be a link to play the podcast, and if you control-click the link you should be able to choose to save it. If it's an embedded player this probably won't work so the only way to make a copy for yourself would be to purchase Audio Hijack and use that to record the podcast as it plays (audio only).

Or you could contact the podcast author and ask them to provide you with a download.

And marking your own question as solved is a quick way of getting no-one to answer it as it wouldn't seem necessary.
