Sharing podcast episodes on OSX

How do I email a link to a podcast episode out of iTunes on a Mac running OSX? I see you can do it out of an iphone but I've had no luck finding out how I can do it on my laptop? Surely it must be possible!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for the great question about sharing a podcast episode on your Mac. I'd be glad to assist you with that.

With the Podcasts app open, select the podcast episode you want to share and tap the 3 dots and choose Copy Link. Then paste it into an email message and you're good to go. You can also choose Share from the same menu and choose Mail and then enter in the rest of the information.

Hey nygy.

The Copy Link option I mentioned is available in the Podcasts app, which would be present on macOS Catalina or later, as iTunes was replaced with the Music, Books, TV, and Podcasts apps. The link created within the Podcast app does point to specific episodes rather than the series as a whole. It is possible though that you could notice a slightly different behavior within iTunes.

Hi Jameison H, thanks so much for your reply. Maybe I didn't express my meaning clearly enough. Yes, copy does allow the emailing of the actual podcast file, usually about 30mb, which isn't really what I hope to do. My hope is share a weblink to the actual episode, not the file. Yes, there's the option to 'copy podcast URL', but that only takes you to the podcast homepage with no reference to the single ep in question. Does the option exist to just share the ep's link?

PS -- I notice you refer to 'Copy link', but it's not an available option in the 3-dots dragdown (and as mentioned, Copy Podcast URL doesn't link the ep). Here's what my iTunes (12.9.5.5, which should be the latest?) offers:
