Download podcasts onto iPod Nano

I can add podcasts to my Podcasts Library on my Mac. But I cannot download them onto my iPond Nano. How do I do that? The system has changed. I used to be able to sync podcasts within iTunes. But with the change so that Podcasts has its own Library I can no longer figure out how to copy podcasts onto my iPond Nano. Is this now impossible?

Hi Ryane77. Thanks for trying to help me. I am trying to place podcast episodes onto my iPod so I can listen to them, while running. I followed all the steps in the link that you kindly sent me. The trouble is that Finder shows no content whatsoever. This is strange because in "Podcasts" (the Podcast Application on my MacBook Air) there are lots of episodes of two podcasts that I enjoy listening to. I have "downloaded" them into the Podcasts Application, I think. Somehow I have to move them or copy them over to the "Finder" application in order to sync them using the direction on that page that you kindly sent to me. Does that make sense? To be clear: There is lots of content in Podcasts but no content in Finder. I need to put the content in order to sync with the iPod, (if I understand the system correctly.) SaskatoonGuy

Thank you for posting here in Apple Support Communities, SaskatoonGuy.

We understand that you're looking to sync your iPod nano with your Mac computer, and we'd be happy to help. It sounds like you're using a newer version of the macOS software, and if so, syncing is now done through Finder. SaskatoonGuy,

Thanks for going through those steps. To confirm, does your mac still have iTunes installed? If so, you would use that application to sync podcasts. This is shown here: Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer

However, if you no longer have iTunes and the Music app is installed, it would be necessary to sync with Finder. Syncing podcasts is outlined here: Sync podcasts between your Mac and iPhone or iPad

Do you see the iPod listed in Finder? The first image in the link above shows what this should look like.

If so, do you see the Podcasts option as shown in the second image? If not, what do you see?

Thanks!
