Data recovery

I have an iphone 12 that drowned in the sea. Such iphone 12 is synced with iphone 7 and my MacBook.

unfortunately after it drowned I lost everything on it except these which were stored on icloud “knowing that the icloud throughout the past 5-6 months didn’t have space and I forgot to buy space.

when I opened my iphone 7 some data were restored (notes, some pictures from the last 6 months yet not all, the contacts & notes).

currently I’m looking for any solution that could get me back such lost data (whatsapp chats & pics) if possible; knowing that the iphone 12 has drowned so I don’t have it as a device now. It’s only synced to the iphone 7 I now have & the macbook and of course the apple id.

iPhone 12, iOS 15

You would need to erase the phone and then restore from the backup. But, this won't make much sense if you have a full backup of the iPhone already.

My recommendation would be to back up the phone to your Mac or PC on a regular basis, so you always have a full complete copy of the phone if you ever need to to restore all the data to the phone.

Also, how do I make sure that everything that shows to me now on the iphone 7 is everything that has been synced?

i mean since the iphone 12’s capacity is bigger than the iphone 7’s isn’t there a possibility that some things didn’t show because of the capacity change difference??

Spend some time going through the iPhone 7 to see exactly what is on the phone and how much storage space is being utilized.

Then, make sure that you have enough storage space on iCloud to handle everything on the iPhone 7.

Or, back up the iPhone 7 to a Mac or PC.......by far the best way to back up because everything is backed up this way.
