Gamepad recognised as keyboard

Hi I’ve bought this relatively new gamepad whilst on holiday which said it works with iOS so I’ve tried using it on Minecraft,cod mobile and I’ve had no luck getting it working so I messed around with some settings on Minecraft trying to do the gamepad it had no input so I tried they keyboard and it worked but I can’t really move or anything I can just swing my arm it’s quite annoying as I spent abit on it and it’s my last day so I can’t take it back anyone know how I can get it to work with my iPhone 12 mini on latest version of iOS
