Hi,
I have HP lasterjet p2055d printer. I am able to use it with Linux system, but it give me the following error when I do printer using my macbook pro Mac OS Catlina version 10.15.7.
"used black cartridge in use"
Any idea what is happening.

I installed the HP 5.11 yet it did not work.
Yet, I removed the hp folder in Computer > Macintosh HD (Usually) > Library > Printers. and then i added the printer driver again from the system preference / printers & scanners and then it worked smoothly.
I forget to say that beside that error one i see on my hp printer screen, i was having another error message on mac "“hpPostProcessing.bundle” will damage your computer. This file was downloaded on an unkown date. "
and the solution that i mentioned above (about removning the hp folder) was stated here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251949085?answerId=253733622022#253733622022

Could it possibly be a problem with the installed printer driver?
macOS 10.12 Sierra appears to be the latest supported operating system version for the HP LaserJet P2055d Printer drivers from the manufacturer:
You could perhaps try the Apple package download HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update instead. An HP LaserJet P2055 with Duplexer version 19.13 driver is mentioned in the referenced article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support. Look upon this as an experiment only. It may not work or change anything. Make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera) before testing anything.
If necessary, reset the printing system.

I see what you saying, and I already did that. Yet, I do face this problem only with the MacBook pro. I just wondering if something goes wrong with the Macbook driver's definition of the printer itself.
I get the following reply from the HP community "Not sure of a fix, but likely it does not happen on linux because it is not using SNMP to monitor the printer."
