How can I transfer my Canadian iPhone 12 Pro to be used with an American provider?

I have iPhone 12 Pro with Telus right now, and I want to use it when I move to the US. According to Spectrum in the US, I cannot use my iPhone 12 Pro because it is a Canadian iPhone, and it does not work with their network, and it does not matter if the phone is unlocked. If that is true with Spectrum, can I use it with other providers like Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile? I thought Apple did not produce different models for specific markets. I would appreciate someone could assist me in getting to the bottom of this. I cannot afford to repurchase another iPhone.

There are certain US-specific frequencies and technologies that are not available elsewhere. However, most, if not all, iPhones support the global GSM standard. I am not sure if Spectrum uses GSM or not. This GSM-support allows iPhones to roam all over the globe (despite the ridiculous roaming rates).

If you have tried your iPhone 12 Pro from Telus in the US, under roaming, then it is definitely supported (personally, it should work).

What you need is to have it unlocked (if not factory unlocked) and try to use a US prepaid SIM first, so you can decide which US provider to go with.

Good luck.
