Authentic AirPods?

I bought two pairs of Air Pods Pro third party. Everything checks out, Serial number is valid, hardware looks perfect, software looks good, even connects to Find My app. BUT BOTH pairs of airpods and case have IDENTICAL serial numbers to the other pair. Essentially clones of each other. The serial number marks these as produced in the last 6 months. Has there been a recent change that allows this in production? Or should I return these due to them being fake…

Good question. If you purchased these AirPods from Apple each unit would have a unique serial number. This is how Apple can ensure AppleCare+ is assigned to the right device.


You should never have two that match -- that are geniune. Sounds like these are fraudulent.
