My Apple Studio Display connected to my Mac Studio no longer works with Zoom or Teams. The mike and speakers are non-functional. Everything is up to date... Any thoughts?

Hey stevesol,
If you haven't already, restart your Mac and disconnect/reconnect the display to see if fresh connections help to resolve this: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support
Also be sure Zoom and Teams have access to the microphone: Control access to the microphone on Mac - Apple Support
We also recommend reaching out to Zoom and Teams Support to have them check the settings of their app with you. This will help to know it isn't a setting causing this to happen:
Get technical support for Teams
Keep us posted.
Take care!
In addition to the good advice you already got: check that the correct input and output are selected in Zoom (it can be different from the system settings).
Also, there is a procedure to restart the Studio Display. Remember that it too is a computer…
Thanks for the help Tammy.
I have already done those things. Zoom and Teams both worked fine until the 12.5 update. Something broke and since it involves two completely different programs I strongly suspect the Apple software is the problem.

Sound is broken after about 2 seconds of playback with EVERYTHING. Zoom, Teams, Music, even the volume setting (if I adjust the volume up and down for a few seconds the audio feedback for the volume level disappears). It's system wide... mic is broken as well with everything, even the sound control panel...
I believe there is a recent thread (sometime this week, but I can’t be sure) about the same problem. I think someone found a solution. Maybe you can find it. If I can find it, I will post a link here.
Luis,
I have just spoken with Apple tech support. This is an early known issue. The fix is to unplug the Studio Display from power and disconnect the Thunderbolt cable from the Mac Studio, wait a minute, reconnect, and restart. Mic and sound work again. Reportedly, this issue does not recur once this fix is applied but if it does at least I now know how to, at least temporarily, fix it. Thanks again for your help! I will also pass this fix on to the link you shared with me.
Steve
OOPS! I see that this fix was in the response chain on the link above! You nailed it! Thanks Luis!
Great idea restarting the Studio Display Luis!
Unfortunately, it didn't help...
Steve
Do the mic and speakers work with other applications like Quicktime Player?
