Mail on iPhone 13 Pro

I am having a problem connecting to my Windstream mail server on my iPhone 13 Pro.

My equipment:

iMac  & Macbook Pro  OS 12.5

2 iPads       iPad OS 15.6 on both

iPhone 13   iOS  15.6

Mail works fine on everything except the iPhone.  I have checked multiple times, and the mail accounts on each device are set up exactly the same.  I have deleted the mail account on the  iPhone 3 times, and set it up again, with no success.  When I attempt to receive mail on the iPhone, I receive an error stating the username or password for account “Windstream” is incorrect.  Yet, mail works fine on the iMac, MacBook and both iPads. Any ideas are appreciated.   Thanks....

Hello cesummers,

This page will help to provide some steps to try for issues with your email on the iPhone: If you can’t send email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

In particular, the "Check your email address and password" section looks like it could apply here. In there it helps to note the following:

If Mail asks you to enter a password for your email account, make sure that your password is correct. To check your email address and password, sign in to your email provider's website.
If you still get a user name or password error, contact your email provider or system administrator.

Also, try restarting the iPhone, which may help with some odd issues that come up: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Try checking with your Email Service Provider to see if the account has two-step authentication enabled, or an app-specific password, as that may affect things.

Cheers.

Hello cesummers,

Getting back to the email issue, is there still a problem?

If so, did you get a chance to reset the Network Settings as directed earlier?

Here are the steps: Tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Have a good day.

Hey cesummers,

We recommend checking to see if issue is network related. If you normally connect to your cellular data, test using a Wi-Fi network. If you normally connect using Wi-Fi network, test using a different Wi-Fi network and/or cellular data.

If you continue to have issues, reset the Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

In regards to the iPhone not connecting your Macs, are you getting an error? If so could you provide us the exact message?

If you're not getting a message, describe to us what happens when you attempt to connect.

We'll wait to hear back. Take care.

Thanks for the response. I have already been to that page, and tried everything. I forgot to mention that mail was working fine on the iPhone until I upgraded to IOS 15.6. One other thing I've noticed is that the phone will no long connect to iMac or MacBook Pro via bluetooth (this too was working prior to IOS 15.6. Also, no two-step Auth, not app specific pswd....

I shut off wi-fi and still receive the same error on mail....this is not a real big problem for me, but the bluetooth is....I just tried re-pairing again. If i try to connect to the phone from the mac, connects, and immediately disconnects. If I try to connect to the mac from the phone, the error message says: "Connection Unsuccessful "Carl's iMac" is not supported". Bluetooth works on every other device, but not the phone. I will do a reset for the mail problem.

You're very welcome, cesummers.

As for the Bluetooth issue, this may be expected depending on what you're looking to achieve. Are you attempting to use your iPhone's personal Hotspot via Bluetooth? If so, are you following the steps in the "If you can't connect to Personal Hotspot with Bluetooth" section of the following article? If not, you'll want to complete the steps outlined there.

If Personal Hotspot is not working on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular)

Have a great day!

No, I am not using the iPhone's personal Hotspot. I just trying to connect the phone to the mac by bluetooth. I did with with the iPhone Xr, but not with the 13 Pro. It just will not connect since IOS 15.6. I'm am running iPad 15.6 on two iPads, and both receive main, and are connect to the mac by bluetooth.

BTW, I did a reset for network on the phone. Should I do a complete reset?
