I have a 70 page (8.5x11) document for a book. When I convert this to pdf it is significant smaller. I started with a smaller format and have changed dimensions. I think that it is printing the original size even though I have entered new parameters. Can someone help me?

Significantly smaller in page count, or exported document storage size? Are you changing the page size from Letter to a smaller, perhaps custom document scale in the Pages Document panel? A PDF may use up to five different forms of compression internally depending on the content you export to that PDF, and I would expect the PDF to have a smaller storage footprint than your original Pages document.

You post is not entirely clear to me…

The page count is not changed. When I started with a template (Memories of a Traveler) which the default is 5x8 which I changed to 8.5x11. Thus I changed increased the document size up. What I am getting is the original size indicating that I haven't really changed anything. When I print the document it is 8.5x11. When I export it as a pdf and print that it is the wrong size.

There must be something in the conversion that is using the original size.

The page size I desire is 8.5x11but the size of the printed area is 5x 8. For some reason it is printed on an 8,5x11 sheet of paper. The bad news is I had Lulu print the book at letter size.

The trouble is I have corrected this problem once and then went back on got an earlier version to correct errors and cannot remember how I corrected the problem. I thought I did by cutting and pasting on a new template but that doesn't work now.
