How to use Automator on MacBook Air (M2, 2022)

On my previous MacBook Air (2014 running Big Sur) I used Automator to create a desktop icon to quit all apps. All I had to do was click on it and my apps would close.

I now have a MacBook Air (M2, 2022). When I used Automator to create Quit All Apps, I get a desktop icon as well, but when I click on it, it doesn't automatically quit all apps. Instead, it opens to a page where I have to hit "run" before the apps will close.

Is there any way to get it to work in one step like before?

I was asking if the dialogue saw was the confirmation to save changes. I guess it wasn’t but I’m not sure what it is.

Is that screenshot the window that pops up where you have to click run? If so, you didn’t create an application. Use the file menu to convert that workflow into an application.

I set Automator up to quit all applications. I had to select "Ask to save changes" so I would not lose data upon quitting. This comes up when I scroll down in the box on the lower left. I did not see an option to quit all applications in Shortcuts.

The screenshot was of the workflow run page. I converted it to an application as you suggested, and that seems to have done the trick. I can now close all applications from my desktop with one click. I appreciate your help, Thank you.
