How Do I Wipe A Dead iPhone

Daughter has dropped her iPhone XR in running water, it worked okay initially then screen went all glitchy and now no screen or power at all it seems. I'd like to sell it for spares / repair on eBay but want to know if there's a way to wipe it first? I've connected to laptop via cable but itunes doesn't connect so must be completely dead.

Anyone any ideas?

You don’t. Not to worry. As long as there was a passcode set on the phone, the data is encrypted and unrecoverable.

If there was no passcode set, recycle it. Don’t sell it.
