MagSafe 3 Port Breaking MagSafe 3 Adapters/Cables?
Both my 96-watt MagSafe 3 adapter and my wife's 35-watt dual USB-C MagSafe 3 adapter abruptly stopped working with our 2021 14-inch M1 MacBook Pro and her 2022 13-inch M2 MacBook Air. I'm wondering whether some individual computers are ruining/breaking all MagSafe 3 adapters/cables they come into contact with.
I have a 14-inch M1 MacBook Pro with the 96-watt power adapter. It's worked like a charm since I bought in November 2021. My wife just got a new M2 MacBook Air with the 35-watt dual USB-C adapter. After less than one week, her adapter has stopped charging her MacBook Air: sometimes the adapter blinks amber, sometimes it doesn't light up at all.
To test whether it was her computer or her adapter/MagSafe cable that is faulty, I tried to charge her computer with my 96-watt adapter. No luck: it just blinked amber. So, I figured it must be her computer that's defective.
Then I plugged my 96-watt adapter back into my computer and ... my adapter can no longer charge my computer! At first, it blinked amber. Now it is just completely dead (no light).
This leaves me wondering whether there is either a manufacturing or design flaw in her MacBook Air's MagSafe 3 port that is breaking MagSafe 3 adapters and/or cables. Has anybody else experienced anything similar?
