iOS 15.6 Heating

hi there, I have an iPhone SE 2016, iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2020, I updated to iOS 15.6 and now my device is overheating and the battery is draining superfast, but my iPhone SE 2020 and my iPhone 8 are perfectly fine, that se is on 98% battery health, my iPhone 8 is on 78% battery health but works fine and my SE 2020 is 89% battery health and that also works fine, please reply back and I hope apple releases an iOS 15.7 update to fix all this for that phone, I shall await your replies X

Your iPhone 8 needs its battery replaced. Apple considers iPhone batteries no longer fit for use once they drop below 80%. Even if the phone still seems to work, it will work more slowly. You also run the risk of the battery starting to swell and damaging the rest of the phone.


It's not entirely clear which of your phones is overheating. However, if the phone is getting too hot to hold, it doesn't matter what the battery health says, you should stop charging it, turn it off and arrange for it to be evaluated by Apple.

If your phone keeps overheating (and by that I mean a warning comes up on the screen), you may well have a hardware issue. Contact Apple to have the phone evaluated:

Note that it's normal for phones to get quite warm under certain conditions, notably while charging and while playing games that require a lot of system resources. As long as it's not too hot to hold, it's probably okay.
