Your iPhone 8 needs its battery replaced. Apple considers iPhone batteries no longer fit for use once they drop below 80%. Even if the phone still seems to work, it will work more slowly. You also run the risk of the battery starting to swell and damaging the rest of the phone.

It's not entirely clear which of your phones is overheating. However, if the phone is getting too hot to hold, it doesn't matter what the battery health says, you should stop charging it, turn it off and arrange for it to be evaluated by Apple.

If your phone keeps overheating (and by that I mean a warning comes up on the screen), you may well have a hardware issue. Contact Apple to have the phone evaluated:

Note that it's normal for phones to get quite warm under certain conditions, notably while charging and while playing games that require a lot of system resources. As long as it's not too hot to hold, it's probably okay.

Seems like shutdown is doing the trick, whenever my iPhone 13 starts heating. I shut it down and restart after 3 to 5 mins and then it’s all good and heating stops for few days.

The iPhone SE 1 is an old phone and can sometimes work extra hard to keep up with usage.

don't update yet. my phone is also overheating and the battery is draining super fast on ios 15.6 .

Normaly it used to overheat when backing up and charging at the same time. now it overheats at the easiest tasks. :(

also my battery last roughly 4 hours while the screen brightness is on minimum.

I have an iPhone 12 and my wife has an iPhone 13 Pro. Never had a problem with overheating and battery life until we updated to iOS 15.6. I would suggest not updating to 15.6 and wait for the next update.

I have 13 pro and it overheats like crazy when I do simple tasks after the update I don't even launch games after the update cuz it overheats on safari I din't wanna see what happens if I play a game or two, I've even limit to 60hz but its still the same I hope they fix it in the next update cuz whats the point of 120hz display if I can't use it

I’m a bit reluctant to update now cuz I also have a 13 pro max - should I wait for the next iOS update?
