manage applications storage

Hey everyone,

I have received lately my new iMac, and it is the first time I'm using this OS. So I'm discovering everyday (very similar to Linux distribution I used to play with years ago).

Even if I still have free space on my HDD, I noticed that the size all applications is around 215Gb which looks just huge. When I check the list of apps with related size I'm far away from this size of 215Gb, so I'm guessing everything is not shown.

My question: is it normal to have such huge size?

Thx :)

Hey Barney

Thx for your swift reply.

It was also my understanding about app size which including all app's data.

however, having the Mac for only couple of days I did not have time to play with it a lot and therefore to accumulate a lot of data.

here is a screenshot of the storage, and as you can see I've far away from those 215Gb for app...

I'm just wondering what will happen in couple of months/years, how the storage will be...
