Hi Bexmex23,

We understand you want to change your ringtone to a purchased tone. We're happy to share information on how to do that. It sounds like you already have the steps but the tone you are looking for is missing. We do want to make sure not steps were missed so make sure when trying to change your ringtone you are using these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics.
  2. Under Sounds and Vibration Patterns, tap the sound that you want to change.
  3. Tap a ringtone or alert tone to hear and set it as the new sound.

You can see more on that here: Use tones and ringtones with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you're not seeing that tone, let us know where you downloaded it from. We will go from there.

Thanks

Thanks for the update, Bexmex23.

We want to clarify a detail. You mention downloading that song through the Music app. If that's correct, you'll need to purchase it via the iTunes Store app to use as a ringtone.

Use tones and ringtones with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Buy ringtones from the iTunes Store
1. Open the iTunes Store app.
2. Tap  More.
3. Tap Tones.
4. Find a ringtone that you want to buy, then tap the price.
5. Choose an option to automatically set the ringtone. Or tap Done to decide later.
6. You might need to enter your Apple ID password to complete your purchase.

Try that, then let us know if the issue persists.

Best regards.

Greetings Bexmex23,

If the ringtone was purchased in the iTunes Store app, it definitely should be there.

Is your device up-to-date? If not, you may want to create a backup of your iPhone and update the software. Here's a guide to help: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. The update process can frequently address unexpected software behavior.

If you're up-to-date and still having the problem, you may want to reach out to Apple directly to verify the eligibility of that purchase/ringtone. You can contact them from this page: iTunes - Official Apple Support. Just click on Get Support at the bottom of that page.

Kind regards!

I downloaded the tone from the Tone Store via Apple Music. It says that it’s downloaded in the Music app, but it doesn’t show up in the settings-sounds/haptics. I have since upgraded to the most recent iOS version and have downloaded other ring tones and they show up. The ringtone I downloaded (the one that isn’t showing up) is Ringtone drop by Liu
