How do I know / find out which address is associated with the File Vault?

when I first setup my new MacBook (MacBook Air (M1, 2020)) I used an @icloud address for iCloud activity and an @yahoo as an apple ID. I activated FileVault and selected the option to use iCloud to recover. A few months later I changed the MacBook to use the @yahoo address for both iCloud and as the apple ID.

Question: how do I know / find out which address is associated with the File Vault? And if it is the old @icloud address, how do I change it to the @yahoo address?

sounds like you are saying that the active apple ID (in my case the @yahoo). is that correct?

Related question: when I check the status of FileVault it says "FileVault has been turned on ..." and "A recovery key has been set". Is this actually indicating that a key was generated and NOT the iCloud recovery option?

It depends which Apple ID is signed if its with yahoo that can be searched from Mac system preferences , recovery key has been set , iCloud recovery option means when you sign out Apple ID say example1@yahoo.com and then sign in with old Apple ID say example2@icloud.com ( its done from Mac system preferences ) If you sign out of your Apple ID preferences on Mac - Apple Support

iCloud recovery option and recovery key are on different platforms .
