Sonos ARC using appleTV 4K and RCA TV

I'm having problems regarding maintaining Sonos Arc soundbar as my preferred source for sound. For example, whenever I switch from streaming one show to the next, despite Sonos Arc being used as my sound source, I've noticed it always switches back to using the regular TV speakers as the sound output. It's very frustrating having to constantly go back to appleTV settings to switch my audio output preferences to Sonos Arc constantly. My TV speakers are the default setting for sound output in appleTV and I don't see any way to change this default. I spend my time having to keep making sound output changes in appleTV settings. This happens when I change from program to program or if I pause and restart the same program...sound always defaults to TV speakers. Any help would be appreciated. Yes, my soundbar is plugged into my TV's HMDI-Arc port. AppleTV is plugged into the TV. Why can't I make the soundbar my default?

Set the Apple TV to use TV speakers, and then set the TV to use the Sonos for audio passthrough.

If you set the Sonos as audio output in Apple TV, then that will always be a temporary audio output, as all AirPlay speakers are temporary (except HomePods).

use a sonos arc with my lg tv it never changed audio settings, if it was me then I would check if the tv have some firmware update you can apply

My point is that it is supposed to work without using the temporary audio output. The default audio output would send the audio to the TV via HDMI. What happens from there is up to the TV. There should be TV settings to output any audio to the connected Sonos, from any connected HDMI device. The Apple TV doesn’t have to know about the Sonos.

Please inquire with other Sonos users or with Sonos Support for any further assistance that you may need.

Hey thanks for the reply.

Just checked my TV for updates...it's up to date. I've got my TV, Sonos soundbar and appleTV all connected directly via ethernet, so it's definitely not a Wifi issue either. I updated my appleTV software today as well and still the problem persists. My output sound keeps reverting back to TV, which appleTV assigns as default mode.

I've double-checked my connections and these are my settings:

My appleTV's Default Audio Output is "Receiver Speakers", which is TV speakers, making my Soundbar the "Temporary Audio Output".

My TV's audio output or "Sound Out", is set to HDMI ARC, which is the Soundbar.

Yes, I think it's a Sonos issue because I've set it up, which is straight-forward, according to the instructions. I shouldn't be having any issues regarding being kicked out of Sonos in favour of the TV speakers.
