I have a University of Phoenix email account and the tech support guy at the college didn't what he was doing. Does anyone on here know how I can get my Phoenix email to work with the Apple Mail App? It is like Gmail based now, and I am getting frustrated trying to figure this out. Thank you.

You need, first, to establish whether the email account supports POP or IMAP. You'll need at least one of these account types to set up any email program.
Next, you will need:
The name of your incoming mail server. This may look something like mail.yourserver.com or pop.yourserver.com.
The name of your outgoing mail server. This may be the same as the incoming server, or may look like smtp.yourserver.com.
Whether either the incoming or outgoing servers need any specific port numbers, whether outgoing mail needs authentication, and whether either needs SSL (a secure protocol).
Once you have this information, you can plug it into Mail, or post back and let us know, and we can help out.
OK, what servers did you try? And what happened when you did? (Did you see an error message, and at what stage?). The more specific you can be, the easier it'll be to figure out what's going on.
Well, I enter the email, and then the password, then it aks for IMAP so I enter in imap.gmail.com and then smtp.gmail.com for the outgoing. Both times I do thses two steps it says it couldnt connect or find the server.
