icloud.com doesn't work and I want to get rid of it and return to the previous setup. Is that possible?

To effortlessly sync information between you devices such as your AppleID, Devices, Contacts, and more requires iCloud.

If you do not want to use iCloud, you can sync the information between devices by using services such as AirDrop.

Additionally, check this article for more information on syncing information between your mac and devices.

iCloud.com shows the same information as your iCloud Account, they are both the same thing.

To understand a bit further, can you explain what actions you took to setup the new system, and what isn't working?

Also, you mentioned you aren't getting any emails on your computer. Make sure you have the email account setup on that device! Add an email account to Mail on your Mac - Apple Support

Thanks!

The new Mac has to be set up Set up your MacBook Pro - Apple Support

Sign in with your Apple ID: Your Apple ID consists of an email address and a password. It’s the account you use for everything you do with Apple—including using the App Store, Apple TV app, Apple Books, iCloud, Messages, and more. It’s best to have your own Apple ID and not share it. If you don’t already have an Apple ID, you can create one during setup (it’s free). Sign in with the same Apple ID to use any Apple service, on any device.

Note : if iCloud Drive / desktops and documents box was checked in it Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive - Apple Support

I had to set up an icloud.com account with "(personalized)@icloud.com". I assume that is some container that holds all e-mail accounts and whatever else gets synced. Unfortunately e-mails (I have about 15 e-mail accounts) don't sync anymore. And this container seems to block submitted forms from my website (i.e., I'm loosing business because of that) So I want to get rid of this "@icloud.com" thing and back to normal. Is that possible?

Thanks muguy. That solved it.

The way I read the instruction suggested this to be a container for all existing accounts on the mac and that those are transferred to the devices withing that container so that there's no need for individual accounts on the devices. So I deleted them. After setting them up again the whole thing works as intended.
