Being frozen is not the same as not turning on.

Here is Apple's guidance on not starting: If your Mac doesn't turn on - Apple Support

After the update, I assume you mean to the OS, did it restart and then freeze? If so, at what point did it stop, i.e. what is showing on the screen?
