just about any manufacturer's external drives will work with a Mac. just don't use any pre-installed software from the manufacturer that supposedly makes a drive "Mac ready". also don't install any such software on the drive yourself. wth any external drive, you will want to use Disk Utility to erase and format the drive before putting it into service.
