itunes authentication problem

i bought a song from itunes today and downloaded it to my laptop just like i have been doing for many years. however i am getting a box stating i need to authorize my device? so i click to authorize, it tells me this has already been authorized and i have authorized 3 out of 5 devices but when i try again to play the song i get the box again saying my device needs to be authorized?

Delete and redownload the song which won't play; if you get told that you'll be charged again, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance.
