"Unable to Share- There was an error while preparing to share. Please try again later."

Hi

I have photos that I am trying to airdrop from my iPhone to my mac. I get the above error.

This is what I have done which have not worked.

closed the photo app

restarted the iphone

Reset all settings.

Saw this option where you could place the photos as favourites as a workaround and share from there. Worked for one or two photos but not all.

Simply cannot share anywhere.

I also get "unable to load photo- an error occurred while loading a Higher Quality version of the photo."

The oddest thing is they dont appear in the iCloud albums (online) or library They dont appear in image capture when connecting the iPhone to the mac, but its there in the favourites album or the iPhone album on the iPhone.


Can anyone help please as deleting is not an option.

Thank you for replying, I tried the above steps but it did not work. I dont think the mac is the issue, the issues are mostly on the iPhone. Any other suggestions please.

To help resolve this issue with sharing, let's start by making sure both devices are up-to-date. Apple's updates contain software that is critical to the operation of your devices.


Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support


If the issue persists, create a new Administrator account on the Mac and see if you are able to share with that user account. This will help determine if there's something going on in your main user account that may be causing a conflict.


Follow the section of this article that states " Add a user": Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac
