Mail Account Message Capacity/Limits

Since the beginning this year Mail accounts appear to have been given a maximum limit of 9,998 messages. Looking for confirmation that this limit applies to each account I have vs the total of several accounts. So far the numbers on my system support this idea.

This afternoon I talked with an Apple Support technician. He told me that Mail accounts don't have capacity limits, it the providers that placed limits on the account.

Anyway am seeking confirmation that each Mail account I have has a limit of 9,998 messages. Don't want to be surprised to learn that there may be some other limits that aren't.

Thanks for your help,

If you select an account mail box— and Control click to see your server quota >Account Information

What I would expect to see— limit is size in GB not a message count limit(?) not sure where that comes from...

Without Knowing the specifics of who your E-mail Servers are - it is a shot in the dark.

Some ISPs have an e-mail Storage Cap imposed and how that relates to the number of e-mail one can have will entirely depend on the e-mail being kept and where there are large File Attachments.

Much like iCloud - the Standard Account has an automatic Capacity for all things iCloud Capped at 5 GB.

How that is divided between e-mail and other iCloud based, usages is all calculated as together in one figure.

Provider is AT&T...they use Yahoo. Unable to find storage capacity limits on this site. No help from contact at AT&T on this search. Prior to my update to Apple's Monterey OS I appeared to have unlimited email storage. After the update the limit was reduced to 9,998 on my major email account. Want to confirm that this limit applies to EACH account and isn't the total for all my accounts. Apple has been helpful, but either isn't able or doesn't want to address this change in capacity.

Thanks for the reply.
