AOL and Mail app missing e-mails

First let me say this is not related to using an app password per se.

I do get emails eventually but for the most part they either show up blank or not at all in my inbox. Sometimes i know i have emails from looking at them in the AOL app or outlook but it just won't download them into the iOS mail app or they simply are not there but if i search for the specific email that i know is in my mailbox but not showing up, i can find it. I imagine this has something to do with the app password being used since that is when it started. Has anyone found a solution that allows AOL and the mail app to function together?

Rivtec,

Got it. To ensure that ensure that we're covering all of our bases, we'd like to provide you with a few additional steps that may help resolve the issue:

Restart your iPhone

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

Quit and reopen the Mail app to see if that helps:

  1. To close the app, start on the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.
  2. Swipe right or left to find the Mail app.
  3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

• Be sure you're running the latest software version. iOS 15.6.1 is the current version. (Secure your data with a backup prior to updating)

Hey rivtec,

We see you're having an issue with receiving AOL emails in the Mail app on your iPhone. Do you have other email accounts set up in the Mail app? If so, do they experience similar issues? This information will help determine whether its related to the email account or the app itself.

If it is just the AOL email, do you recall setting it up manually or automatically? Manually means entering information such as Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server: Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If it was manually entered, make sure the settings are correct by reviewing this article from AOL support: Use POP or IMAP to sync AOL Mail on a third-party app or download your email. To view the settings, click the plus sign next to "AOL Mail POP and IMAP settings". The information above that section explains the difference between POP and IMAP.

If you continue to have issues with receiving emails, follow the steps here: If you can't receive emails on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Hope this helps. Take care.

Hi

Yes i do have other email accounts on my phone. 4 to be exact and its only an issue with that one AOL but sometimes my phone will be missing all emails from a certain time period. like just now anything after 8/10 (today is 8/21) have disappeared for the time being. ive attached screen shots of how missing emails appear on my phone from that one account. ive tried to automatically add it as well as manually. all the settings are correct. could be related to be something with the way the mail app is downloading headers maybe?
