How do I change the default tri-tone notification sound to something else?

You can set different sounds for different mail accounts. Go to Settings>Notifications>Mail. Scroll down and tap on Customize Notifications. That should produce a list of your mail accounts. Tap on the account, and you will see a page to set Alerts, Sounds, and Badges. When you select Sounds, you can then select whichever tone you wish. That is how I have mine set and so I have a different sound for each of my 3 accounts.

So you are saying that the sound you get from the VIP folder for mail is the tri-tone? Otherwise, I'm guessing that the notification you are getting about a UPS delivery is a notification from the UPS app, is that correct? The tone for Instagram and Tagged is up to the app developers for those notification sounds, not Apple. Voicemail has the option to change sounds if you go to Settings>Sounds & Haptics>New Voicemail and you can change the sound there.

Thanks. I don't see anywhere that you can change the notification for the VIP folder, which in itself I find a little strange. But I've never encountered that since I don't use it. Good luck with providing feedback to Apple. They may find that something they would be willing to change.
