Touch ID on I Mac

How do I retrieve the Touch ID in the system preference. It looks like I deleted it somehow.

My Touch ID is completely gone from my settings after the most recent update, how do I get it back I had touch ID on my Mac desktop computer up until the most recent update. Now I go into settings and the fingerprint icon only shows "login ID has been set for this computer", all the touch ID information is gone. How do I get it back?

Can I restore Touch ID? I accidentally deleted my fingerprint id on my iMac. Touch ID is no longer seen on the system setting page. The only thing I am able to do is change my password. Is there any way to get back the option for Touch ID?

Restart your Mac and see if the problem persists

If so, restart your Mac in safe mode to see if the problem persists
