Retrieving fies from Cloud Storage is complicated. What is the easiest way to retrieve stored files from Cloud?

In what way do you find it complicated? On you Mac all your files and documents in iCloud will also be in your iCloud Drive Folder, easily accessed in your Finder sidebar. They are not just "stored" in iCloud, but will synchronise between iCloud and your Mac (and any other device signed into your iCloud account).
Additionally, you may have chosen to sync all your files in your Mac's Documents folder and your Desktop.
