Stop the “memories” photo collages w/music

How to stop these memories photo collages w/music. I find them really annoying.

Also why does the Photos widget only pick certain photos out of your whole photo roll?

In Ventura it is reported that you can turn them off. As for why only certain photos, only Apple knows the criteria they use for curation. I think it is kind of fun to see what they pick, they generally do a pretty good job.
