I love the idea of a daily collection of random photos. But the music and the style of the memories is so atrocious. I hate it so much. The music is bad and the fact that it crops my photos is an insult.
How can I delete memories but keep featured photos in my widgets.
Once again, I like the idea, but the execution is terrible, I wish there was a way that I could view one type and not the other.

Yes, you can delete the memory and keep the photos.
You can make your own memory slideshow with the slideshow feature of Photos and add your own music. However, be aware that there are only two themes that will keep your sort order and not crop the photos to match the theme: Classic and Ken Burns.
