Macbook Pro 16" screen impossible to clean and always smeared
I've got to say that I have owned a ton of Apple laptops in the past and none of them have been as problematic as the screen on this 16" Macbook Pro 2021. I have always done my best to clean it lightly but no matter what I use it just leaves smears across the screen. Optical glass cleaner and a soft cloth just create a film of smears. Harder buffing scratches the screen!
In fact, I have had this laptop for about 8 months and the screen looks 10 years old. It scratches up like cheap plastic. My Macbook Air lasted me 6 years and barely has a visible scratch on it. Hold the Macbook Pro up to the light and I'm seeing 4 inch long light scratches just from trying to clean the screen.
The worst thing of all is that the screen is so poorly constructed that it bows inwards when picking up. the laptop in its closed state. The screen bend in and makes contact with the keys underneath, picking up all the grease from my fingers and turning it into a big smeary mess all over again. I can often see the imprint of the keys on the screen itself in smudge form. I don't dare close it when I clean the screen now or else I have to clean it all over again. And I don't dare clean the keyboard with any fluids because I have experienced a few times that Apple keyboards hate moisture of any kind.
Truly awful situation. I always considered Apple products to be built to last. This is the first time I've realised that it is not the case. This thing is still under warranty. Is there anything I can do?
