Can’t use iPhone 13 pro max as digital key in bmw g16

Looking at previous reviews, two years ago, I can’t find that anyone has used an iPhone as a digital key in a bmw Gran coupe (G16).

Digital key card works straight away.

I have tried using Apple X /12/ 13 pro max, non of which work!

I have tried switching my bmw off , opening the door, shutting the door and switching system back on…no deal.

The I drive system doesn’t recognise any of the Apple mobiles, on the BMW app there is no icon to add digital key as I’ve seen over YouTube etc.

Finally on purchasing your vehicle , you’re supposed to get an email to register your digital key network…..I never did.

Every other function works on my iPhone connected wirelessly to the Idrive system.

The genius at BMW states they don’t discuss it with customers as they can’t get it to work.

Any ideas from anyone, or am I just wasting my time going any further, if it just doesn’t work with IPhone’s.
